A day of reflection

Here at 300 North, we’re all for getting onboard with initiatives that help to raise the profile of the FM sector. While World FM Day is a global celebration, closer to home, it’s a day for us to reflect on our achievements.

Since 2014, we’ve established ourselves as experts within FM recruitment and worked with honesty, integrity, knowledge and enthusiasm to build a recruitment experience based on customer satisfaction. We’ve had the pleasure of working with a great bunch of clients and candidates, including FM service providers, clients with their own in-house FM team, asset and infrastructure management companies, candidates with extensive experience and those who simply want to get a foothold in the FM arena.

Having placed hundreds of people within professional service roles right through to senior management positions, we’ve noticed a shift in the diversity of careers in FM. This demonstrates how the industry is developing to meet the needs of the end user and allows us to assist a once unrecognised pool of talent.

We certainly couldn’t have done any of the above without our dedicated team, so here’s a BIG thank you to every single person who has contributed to the success of not only 300 North but the wider FM sector. The unsung heroes of FM

This year, one World FM Day initiative celebrates the behind-the-scenes heroes of the built environment. We, therefore, wanted to take this opportunity to recognise the accomplishments of one of our long-standing clients - Pinnacle PSG. Although we do like to think of FM recruiters as unsung heroes too!

Pinnacle PSG deliver award-winning housing management and FM services to public and private organisations and were the FM provider for (amongst others) the Leeds Ten Primary Schools Project. The project, led by QED (Leeds) Limited and Leeds City Council, won Gold for ‘Best Operational Project’ at this month’s Partnerships Awards 2019.

Everyone involved in the project worked together to help the schools, largely serving deprived areas of Leeds, develop and improve key areas such as learning experiences, health and wellbeing, and environmental standards. This included the introduction of a rain water harvesting system - collecting water from the school roofs, depositing it in a collection tank, and using it for flushing toilets and maintaining school grounds. This has led to an annual saving in water consumption charges of £11,300 with project whole-life savings of over £200,000 for Leeds City Council.

Get involved

Events for World FM Day are taking place throughout the week - not just today - and we would like to give a final shout out to the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management. As part of their Career of Choice campaign, their schools project will give children aged 11 to 14 the chance to become a Facilities Manager for a day. What a fantastic way to teach the next generation about FM!
