Modern Slavery Statement

FY Ending March 2024 for 300 North Consulting Ltd

This statement has been published in accordance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps taken by 300 North Consulting Ltd for the period April 2023 to March 2024 to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in its own business operations and supply chains.

Voluntary Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

We are committed to improving our practices to combat modern slavery in our business by taking steps, as far as we are able, to ensure that our supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking. This statement sets out the steps we have taken in our last Financial Year to understand potential modern slavery risks within our business structure and supply chain, as well as the steps taken to eradicate these risks.

About Us

We are a Privately Owned Limited Company providing temporary, fixed term and permanent recruitment services in the Facilities Management and Construction Sectors.

Our annual turnover for the period was £3,300,000. Although we are not required to make a modern slavery statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we are making this voluntary statement to show our commitment to ethical trading principles and to set out the steps we are taking to identify risks and tackle modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and in our supply chains.

Our supply chains mainly consist of the following:

  • Umbrella payroll companies
  • Software & IT Support companies
  • Online Job Board companies

We employed 13 staff, worked with 48 different clients in this period and with 6 software providers. Our work is conducted only within the United Kingdom.

Policies

Our Anti-slavery Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains. We also have the following policies in place relevant to modern slavery, which we continuously review and update: Anti-slavery and human trafficking policy.

Due Diligence and Risk Assessment

To help identify and monitor the risk of slavery and human trafficking in our supply chain we ask them to confirm that they adhere to the modern slavery statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and also ask them for a copy of their Modern Slavery Statement and Policy where applicable.

We include anti-slavery and human trafficking provisions in all our contracts with suppliers.

We do not employ contract workers directly in our business but we do provide temporary workers to our clients that are all paid through Umbrella Payroll Companies.

Responsible Recruitment

We are a member of APSCo (Association of Professional Staffing Companies) which we are audited by each year to ensure we adhere to both the legal requirements and also their best practice policies. We check candidates have the Right to Work in the UK and where necessary we check that the bank account we are paying into does belong to that individual. We work with a number of Umbrella Payroll companies who pay the workers and ensure that they are all members of the relevant bodies to ensure they adhere to UK legislation.

Training

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we provide training to our staff when they 1st join the business. Ongoing refresher training is provided throughout the year.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Ensure we have verified 100% of ID and RTW for all temporary workers supplied by 300 North Consulting.
  • Ensure that the umbrella payroll companies are checking candidates' bank details are their own and not belonging to someone else.
  • Conduct Staff training for all new employees within their 1st week.
  • Ensure that all temporary workers are paid at minimum the national minimum wage.
  • Ask new suppliers for a copy of their Modern Slavery Policy and Statement where available.

This voluntary Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made for the financial year ending 31.03.2024. It was approved by the Shareholders on 26.03.2024.
