- Up to £75,000 p/a
- Home based – local office North London
We are currently recruiting for an exciting new role which has become available as a well-established FM business gears up to begin its preparations for PFI hand back.
This role will be home based with regular travel to the local office in Covent Garden, and travel to sites as they hand back – most sites in the portfolio are PFI schools in and around the London area. You will be creating strategies and structures for smooth hand back procedures including operating timelines and guides for best practice.
Reporting directly into the UK FM Director, you will work alongside the site delivery teams and the national commercial teams. This role would suit someone with a keen interest in PFI looking to take their career to the next level and looking to incorporate more strategy as well as operations into their role.

Duties of the role include:
- Leading on the PFI hand back processes and strategic goals on behalf of the business.
- Working with the FM Director to create a PFI Handback vision and strategy that is aligned to the existing and future business needs.
- Managing commercial discussions around hand back including projects, the interpretation of asset condition expiry criteria and other requirements.
- Management of commercial and compliance documentations, such as reviewing and draughting hand back documentation.
- Working as a company AE - high level of technical knowledge and working on statutory and regulatory compliance across the contract portfolio.
- Working closely with hand back clients in the transition out of the PFI contract into a traditional FM contract, having the opportunity to work with them again and retain the business.
- Work on CAFM system improvements, supporting statutory compliance and PPM data migration with a view of streamlining for hand back requirements.
- Mitigate the company’s exposure to condition-based expiry risks and manage the portfolio condition survey process.
- Investigation into building defects to determine the root cause, understand design criteria outlined in the O+M Manuals to identify any remaining defects prior to handover.
- Participate in new tenders and business proposal as required by the wider team to help drive business growth.
The ideal candidates will have the following skills and experience:
- Strong knowledge in PFI contract delivery.
- Experience in interpreting contract clauses in PFI documents.
- Astute commercial management.
- Come from an operational, commercial or compliance background.
- Technical knowledge/background is essential due to the hard-FM delivery involved in all of the contracts.
- Ideally already and AE or AP level technically, or willing to undergoing training to this level.
- Strategic thinker able to create policies and procedures.
- Strong communicator able to engage with multiple stake-holders both internally with site teams and senior management, and externally with the DFE, Schools and the SPV’s.
- Experience managing site condition surveys.
